Information
provided by you online or otherwise will be processed by Lares &
Penates and used to provide you with the ordered products, for billing
and accounts purposes, and to keep records of the transaction.
In
addition, your information may be used to keep you informed about Lares
& Penates products, promotions and services. We will only use this
information if you have given your consent.
Privacy Policy - Personal Information
Lares
& Penates are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only
use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance
with the Data Protection Act 1998). We only collect information about
you to process your order. We will not e-mail you in the future unless
you have given us your consent. The following information is collected:
your name, address, phone number, email address and IP address. We do
not retain credit or debit card details. Payment is made through a
secure, internationally trusted, payment gateway called PayPal.
Your
name, address, phone number and email address are stored in order to
speed up your checkout when making future purchases from us. You can
check and amend the information that we hold about you when making
future purchases. You will have to enter your credit/debit card details
each time you make an online purchase from us. The personal information
which we hold will be held securely in accordance with applicable UK
and European laws.
Cookies This
site uses cookies stored on your computer to allow you to complete your
order. You must allow cookies in order to use this site. We do not
store your personal or card details in cookies.
Basis of Sale
When
you click on "Check Out" on the "Shopping Cart Page", you offer to buy
the goods at the prices indicated including any delivery charges that
apply to your purchase. All orders will be subject to these conditions:
Orders
Acceptance of order: your order becomes binding as soon as we have accepted it, subject to your rights of cancellation.
On
receipt of your order we will send you an acknowledgement via email. If
you have not received an acknowledgement within 48 hours, then please
contact us immediately at sales@lares-penates.co.uk or on 01274 258304.
Your order is conditional until we
confirm/accept the order with details of an expected delivery date. Our
acceptance of your order is conditional on the availability of the
products you have ordered.
Items
will be allocated upon payment. In the unlikely event of any of the
products you have ordered being unavailable, or should events occur
beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to either offer a
refund or a product of similar value or cancel your order. In such
circumstances we shall let you know as soon as possible.
It
is your responsibility to check that all details and aspects of your
order are correct, and suitable for your requirements, including
measurements, dimensions and product features. It is also your
responsibility to ensure that the furniture products you have ordered
will fit into your home, and that there is sufficient access for our
delivery lorry to reach the delivery address. Please remember – all
measurements are approximate; please allow +/- 2cm variance on sizes
stated. Deliveries requiring special access arrangements can be
made but will sometimes bear an additional cost. To ensure that
delivery prices are kept low the driver will not undertake additional
tasks such as removing window frames.
Delivery
Within
5 days of your purchase you will receive an anticipated delivery date,
if this date is not convenient please contact us and we will try and
arrange a more appropriate time.
We
shall not be responsible for delays if we are unable to contact you, so
please ensure that at least two contact numbers and an accurate email
address are provided at the time you place your order.
Delivery is normally 1-4 weeks but some items can take up to 12 weeks.
Deliveries can be executed totally or in several parts depending on the availability of the goods.
Delivery
dates are not guaranteed but we will do our utmost to ensure goods are
delivered within the stated date or soon afterwards.
We
shall not be responsible for delays or failures in delivery caused
because we cannot gain access to the delivery address on the agreed
date or because of other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If
you are unavailable or unwilling to take delivery of your furniture
order on two occasions after having agreed delivery dates, we will
start to charge you storage costs of £100 per full week in respect of
the undelivered furniture products from the date of the second failed
delivery attempt.
An adult must be
available at the address to check the products, sign and acknowledge
receipt in a safe and satisfactory condition.
If
no one is available to accept delivery at the delivery address, we
shall keep your products and contact you to rearrange delivery, unless
other prior arrangements have been made. We charge 100% redelivery
charge for all items.
Cancellations
You
have the statutory right within the United Kingdom to cancel the order
and return any goods ordered in exchange for a refund. This statutory
right of cancellation starts on the date that you submit your order and
expires within seven working days beginning on the day after the day on
which you receive the goods. If you amend or cancel your order
more than 48 hours after you placed it, we reserve the right to charge
you any costs we will incur in relation to your order.
To cancel your order you must notify us by email, telephone or in
writing to obtain an authorisation code and you must send the goods
back to us within twenty one days of the date of cancellation. You are
responsible for ensuring that the goods are received by us and are not
damaged in transit. Goods should therefore be securely packaged. We
recommend that you return items using recorded delivery, for your
protection.
You are also responsible for the cost of returning items to us, unless
the items were incorrectly delivered on our part, or, the items were
delivered in a damaged or faulty condition. It is important to examine
your goods on delivery to confirm that they are in a satisfactory
condition.
1. All products can be returned for refund providing they are in an unused and re-saleable condition.
2. All non faulty goods for refund must reach us within 21 days of the date of cancellation.
3. To help us process your return, goods should be accompanied by your
name and contact details, the order number and the date of purchase.
4. You must email, write or telephone for a return authorisation code
prior to returning goods. You must not return goods without an
authorisation code.
5. Lares & Penates will refund (including delivery costs) any
product which is wrongly delivered, is damaged on delivery or is found
to be faulty after investigation.
6. Lares & Penates will not refund postage expenses for non faulty goods returned.
7. Subject to the UK Statutory Right of Cancellation, any proper and
reasonable costs that Lares & Penates incur for the collection of
non faulty goods will be deducted from your refund.
Furniture Returns
If
you believe any of our products to be of an unsatisfactory quality
please contact us immediately. Nothing mentioned in these Terms and
Conditions affects your statutory rights in the unlikely event that the
goods do not meet a standard required by law.
Any
product with a manufacturing fault will be replaced on a like for like
basis only. No credit will be given and no alternative product will be
supplied. Faulty products must be returned in suitable protective
packaging by Recorded Delivery or some other traceable method.
We
reserve the right to reject any "faulty" product if we consider the
complaint to be unreasonable, unjustified, or of the customer's
negligence or making.
These
guarantees do not cover wear and tear; neglect; abuse or misuse of your
goods; loss or damage through whatever causation, e.g. fire, smoke,
sunlight, weather, rusting, corrosion, infestation via animals or
boring insects, theft, or explosion; accidental damage or consequential
loss, etc. The supplier's liability is restricted to value of
replacement goods only
and we will not be held liable for any consequential losses.
